FHFA Approves the Solicitation for Alternative Credit Score Models
The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has approved the credit score solicitation jointly prepared by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae (GSEs) in line with the FHFA final rule on the validation and approval of third-party credit score model(s) that the GSEs can use.
The joint credit score solicitation provides a detailed description of the GSE’s solicitation criteria for credit score model validation and approval and other important application requirements.
Interested credit score developers must submit their credit score model proposals between May 18, 2020 and September 15, 2020. [Submission period is closed.]
The solicitation of proposals is the first of four phases described in the FHFA final rule on the validation and approval of third-party credit score model(s) that the GSEs can use. This rule took effect on October 15, 2019.
