Today, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae (the GSEs) announce the publication of the updated Uniform Closing Dataset (UCD) v2.0 (UCD v2.0) Initiative Timeline, UCD Critical Edits Matrices, and Technical Resources to ensure UCD XML file requirements are met and to support Sellers in improving data quality. UCD data can add insight and help provide common understanding of the loan transaction, detect fraud, determine purchase eligibility, improve delivery certainty and manage risk.

The UCD v2.0 Updates include:

  • UCD v2 Initiative Timeline
  • UCD v1.5 Critical Edit Matrix (CEM) v8.0
  • UCD v2.0 Specification - Revised March 27, 2025
  • UCD v2.0 EXTENSION schema and UCD v2.0 Specification Validation Schema
  • New - UCD v2.0 CME v1.0

UCD v2.0 Specification Initiative Timeline Milestone Dates

In addition, the GSEs have revised specific implementation dates replacing the 2025 quarters as noted below.

  • June 30, 2025 – New and updated UCD Critical Edits, UCD v2.0 schema and Specification Version requirements will be available in Loan Closing Advisor customer test environments.
  • September 29, 2025 – UCD v2.0 schema and all edits will be available in Loan Closing Advisor production environment.

We are aligned with Fannie Mae on these dates for implementation in both closing systems.

Future Change: Login Authentication

Loan Closing Advisor® will be updating its login procedures whereby users will need to navigate to the tool through a new entry point. The new authentication process will no longer use a username/password but require users to send a token to gain authentication and access.

There will be a transition period of a year, September 2025 - 2026, for users to follow the new login authentication procedure. Additional details and timelines will be communicated at a later date.
