What is the Tip Referral Tool (TRT®)?
TRT is Freddie Mac's centralized platform for reporting mortgage fraud, suspicious activity and adverse self-reporting related to Freddie Mac-owned loans. Reporting through TRT enables proactive mortgage fraud detection by helping identify early indicators of potential fraud.
Early fraud detection helps reduce waste, supports investigations, strengthens mortgage market integrity, and helps protect borrowers, lenders and investors. Seller/Servicers and industry participants are required to submit tips through TRT, ensuring that each tip is reviewed in a secure and consistent manner.
