UCD Warning Edits in Loan Closing Advisor Production

On September 29, 2025, Uniform Closing Dataset (UCD) Phase 3B Postponed and Phase 4 warning edits are available in Loan Closing Advisor’s production for you to test UCD XML submission files for compliance. Loan Closing Advisor will return new and revised “warning” edits and feedback messages to help you prepare for the UCD v2.0 adoption and the transition of critical edits.

UCD Phase 3 Note: You will notice new critical message codes and text messages for existing Phase 3 critical edits on September 29. These messages were updated to reflect the UCD v2.0 Specification updates and provide message clarity. Refer to the UCD v2.0 Critical Edits Matrix

  • Sellers

    • We recommend you continue your due diligence and review the data prior to submission to ensure its accuracy; and review feedback to help resolve potential critical issues prior to the implementation mandate.
    • UCD reports will be available mid-October; contact your Freddie Mac representative or Freddie Mac Vendor Technology Integration representative.
    • ECO® reporting will be available in October for you to access and review daily UCD information on your loans.

Transition begins with UCD v1.5 to UCD v2.0 Specification requirements

On September 29, 2025, you can submit UCD XML files complying with UCD v2.0 requirements in Loan Closing Advisor’s production for you to test UCD XML submission files for compliance. The Loan Closing Advisor will return new “warning” edits and feedback messages to help you prepare for the UCD v2.0 adoption.

During the transition period (prior to mandate), UCD XML files can be submitted EITHER in UCD v1.5 format OR UCD v2.0 format. Files that combine the two specification formats will result in a Loan Closing Advisor “Not Successful” submission status, enforced by the Specification Version feedback. Reference the “Specification Version” tab in the UCD v2.0 Critical Edits Matrix.

  • Software Providers

    • We recommend you engage with your Freddie Mac Technology Integration Managers as soon as possible to develop, test and implement the UCD v2.0 requirements into the Loan Closing Advisor production environment.
    • Review the reporting available from your Technology Integration Managers on UCD Phase 3B Postponed and Phase 4 to track your progress and readiness.
    • Refer to the UCD v2.0 Readiness Checklist – Direct Integrators

Loan Closing Advisor OAuth 2.0 Authentication Transition Begins

As we communicated in our June announcement, we’re updating the required system-to-system (S2S) authentication for Loan Closing Advisor by changing from basic authentication to token-based Open Authentication (OAuth 2.0) with the transition beginning September 30, 2025.

Transition Begins in Loan Closing Advisor Production

Users can begin using the OAuth 2.0 authentication prior to the discontinuation of basic authentication mandate on October 3, 2026.

October 3, 2026

Required in Loan Closing Advisor Production

On and after October 3, 2026, users must use OAuth 2.0.

We recommend that Loan Closing Advisor users test their OAuth 2.0 authentication in Loan Closing Advisor Customer Test Environment (CTE) prior to the changes in production. The reason for this upgrade is to continue the standardization of integration with Freddie Mac services and to increase safety and soundness for our technology providers. All developers and Sellers will have one year to develop, test and transition to the new authentication method. Each Seller must ensure you’re working with your software provider to prepare to cutover to the OAuth 2.0. The OAuth API details are available in the Freddie Mac Developer Portal  in the Related Documents section of OAuth in the API Catalog.

Refer to the Integration with Freddie Mac APIs Best Practices Guide on the Freddie Mac Developer Portal, which provides best practices on how to effectively build and integrate with Loan Closing Advisor’s APIs.
