Getting Started With Freddie Mac Checklist

Our Getting Started Checklist is designed to help you collect the documents you’ll need to submit through the online “Become a Freddie Mac Single-Family Seller/Servicer” application.

Please answer the following questions so that we can determine which forms you need to complete.

How will you do business with us?
  • Servicing Retained - Loans are sold to Freddie Mac with your organization retaining the servicing responsibilities and relationship with the borrower.
  • Servicing Released - Loans are sold to Freddie Mac with servicing placed by us with a servicing aggregator.
  • Servicing Only - Loans are owned by Freddie Mac with your organization performing the servicing responsibilities and managing the relationship with the borrower, either directly or via an approved servicing agent.
What kind of organization do you have?
Will you be using a Concurrent Transfer of Servicing (CTOS)?
(Your organization has arranged for a transferee servicer)
Will you engage a vendor to perform certain default functions in connection with servicing Freddie Mac loans, with direct reimbursement to the vendor?
Will you be using a warehouse line of credit or another arrangement, such as a repurchase agreement or a gestation repurchase agreement, to finance your loans prior to their sale to Freddie Mac?
(Funding loans through a warehouse line or other financing arrangement)
Will the financial custodial accounts be held in-house or at an eligible depositor that is not your organization?
Will you utilize a subservicer or third party servicing agent?
Will you use one of Freddie Mac's Designated Custodians, the Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, N.A. or Computershare Trust Company, N.A, for document custodial services?

Your checklist will include the forms needed to apply to contract with a Document Custodian.

Are you currently set up in the Uniform Collateral Data Portal® (UCDP®) to submit appraisals to Freddie Mac?
Are you already set up to use Loan Product Advisor®?
